Venttup, a Bengaluru-based B2B manufacturing startup that develops and localises critical and precision components and subassemblies, has raised $3 million in a pre-Series A round co-led by Rainmatter, Zerodha's investment arm, and Unicorn India Ventures. The round was reported on October 29. Unicorn India Ventures also backed Venttup's seed round in September 2024, according to Entrackr. The company was incubated at Kerala Startup Mission and was founded by Sandeep Nair, who is CEO, M. Wasim Ankli and Joseph Panakkal.

The model sits between a component design and commercial production. Original equipment manufacturers, technology companies and deeptech startups, including those looking for domestic alternatives to imported parts, come to Venttup with designs or requirements. Venttup handles engineering, supplier selection and qualification, prototype testing, quality inspection and production, using in-house engineering and a network of manufacturing partners that are mostly MSMEs.

The new money will go into engineering hires, precision manufacturing and rapid prototyping infrastructure, and AI tools for B2B sourcing, supplier intelligence and operations, Inc42 reported. Venttup is setting up a facility in Bengaluru for precision machining, turning and sheet metal work, aimed at shortening the path from a validated component to mass production. It works across four verticals: energy transition and data centres; aerospace, defence and space systems; smart infrastructure and future mobility; and electronics, automation and smart manufacturing.

Venttup says revenue grew fivefold since its seed round to Rs 10 crore in FY26, that it added more than 15 large customers in the past 12 months, and that it has a business opportunity pipeline of about Rs 30 crore. Inc42 places it alongside Zetwerk, CapGrid and Karkhana, and notes that the real test will be winning repeat production contracts once a component is validated.
